Objective: This flagship health insurance scheme aims to provide a health cover of ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
Coverage: Over 10 crore families (around 50 crore beneficiaries) who are socio-economically vulnerable. The scheme is paperless, cashless, and provides free treatment in public and empaneled private hospitals.

It covers 1,350 medical packages including surgery, day-care treatments, and follow-up care.
Financial protection against catastrophic health expenditures.
Eligibility: Beneficiaries are identified based on the deprivation criteria in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011.
